Amsterdam's QuiQui helms this month's 5 and Dime Podcast, turning in tech laden mix of deep tech house awesomeness. While primarily a producer and DJ of techno, QuiQui's sets and production work have the same sort of warm synths and cracking basslines as many of our own releases, and this mix features two of his own tracks which are forthcoming on the label. Denver's own Luv Boutique (AKA Brandon Bass) helms this month's 5 and Dime Recordings Podcast. As a DJ, Brandon Bass has been immersed in the underground scene for the last decade, throwing successful events as Denver House Authority with partner Joey M and racking up a solid and consistent resume with numerous appearances in his hometown of Denver as well as stops in various other cities throughout the U.S. including festival appearances at Love Parade, SxSw, WMC and Ultra Music Festival.

As a producer, he's released projects on labels such as Cold Busted, Mercado Paralelo Full Flavor Music, and most recently he made his debut on 5 and Dime with his remix of Nacho's Riveros' "7th Avenue" (out now). As if that weren't enough, he's also got several releases on his own labels, Hub City Music and Aspect Audio.

Romania's James Dax helms this month’s 5 and Dime Podcast, which is chock full of awesome in the form of deep tech house goodness. Under this specific moniker, James Dax has releases on Avec Moi, Trick Track Recordings, as well as the next 5 and Dime Recordings release, currently slated for late January. Including all of his monikers, he's on more labels than you care about or I care to type out. That's not really the point. The point is that this set is tits, and if you give it a listen and stop reading this you'll know what I'm talking about. Go on then!

"Deep Roots: 1995-1999" is a "deeply heartfelt tribute to some of the timeless tracks and artists that inspire my sound today. I first got into house music around 2000 -- after all of these songs came out. It wouldn't be until years later that I first came across a few of them. I remember hearing Maurizio's "M4" and Global Communication's remix of "Jazz Carnival" and having my world turned on its head.

"When I started compiling this mix I specifically wanted to look for songs that have inspired my sound today. There's something about digging for older music that sets the experience apart from shopping for new stuff. You can't help but think about how differently house music was made, and played back then. I sifted through probably a couple thousand tracks and made quite a few re-edits -- something that would've taken an absurd amount of time back when these songs were first released. This is the first of what I hope to be a series of mixes highlighting those songs and artists that have paved the way for deep tech house. They are classic, yet timeless." --Zach DeVincent

For this month's 5 and Dime Recordings podcast, we're proud to feature Hipp-E, live in the mix from Art of Sound, held October 27th in San Diego. Playing alongside Halo, the other half of the iconic H-Foundation, Hipp-E turns in a mix that makes us wish we were there for the whole show. Chuggy, dirty, techy, and ultimately awesome, this set exemplifies Hipp-E's patented sound and presence at a live show, while also giving us a taste of how both his live sets as well as production have evolved over the years.
